What it does

  • 10-cup carafe
  • Fold-away frother
  • Permanent filter
  • Drip brewing

Who it suits

  • households that drink several cups in a row
  • anyone who wants coffee at the press of a button, or on a timer where the machine has one

Who should skip it

  • anyone who wants to control water temperature and the pour, because an automatic machine decides for you
  • a single cup now and then, where a smaller brewer wastes less coffee

The thing worth knowing

The cup count is the maker's measure and a cup is usually about 5 fl oz, so a 12-cup machine makes around 60 fl oz. Use fresh, medium-ground coffee and descale and clean the machine regularly, because scale and old coffee oils change the taste.

What we have not done

We have not independently tested this product. The description above is compiled from the manufacturer’s published specification and from what the category demands, and it is written to tell you who the equipment suits rather than to sell it. Where we have no first-hand experience, we say so rather than inventing a star rating.
